Whether you showed up here by pure accident, or deliberately sought out this website, we know what you are thinking: “This looks like a very happening backyard party. How can I go about joining in on the festivities?” Well, the process is not really all that complicated. Please note that most of us have gotten to know each other’s relative personalities through our interaction on Cyanide Studio’s Blood Bowl game forum. http://www.cyanide-studio.com/forumBB/ While patiently awaiting the release of the game, we’ve found quite a variety of other things to talk about during the course of the last year or more. And thus, a few of us forum regulars decided to form our own league. To help newcomers, who haven’t shared our pain of waiting weeks, or even months at a time with barely a scrap of production news, we’ve put together this set of guidelines on how you too, may one day be invited to the barbeque. |

Note from author: In an effort to catalogue some of our history, I’ve started the following glossary of terms. This is by no means complete, and is intended to be a work in progress. While “temporary cure for boredom” is as good enough reason as any, I have other reasons for preparing it. Those who are unfamiliar with our league may wish to explore some of this “back story”. It provides strong insight as to who we are, what we’ve waited through, and how our friendships were forged. And to my brothers in tongs, may it bring you many a good laugh as you reminisce. |

Our very own Mekelan has created an awesome flash-based tool to help Blood Bowl players diagram and share their starting formations, game situations, etc. It's called the Play Creator and is available for free use at http://www.play-creator.com. Our forum (and Cyanide's too) has a special Play Creator tag installed which makes it simple to share with everyone. Check it out! |

Da Krazy Krew Troll Pillowpants complained when goblin Zany Xzum came to pre-season training having gained several stone and looking like an ugly green Halfling. The weight gain meant Pillowpants could only throw him a few paces and Xzum couldn’t actually get up once thrown. Grin Madcap tried a new tactic. He added a strong laxative to Xzums halftime drinks. Next time Pillowpants went to throw the little fellow Xzum was jet propelled into the end zone. The celebrations were cut short however after Pillowpants--covered in ‘jet fuel’--caught up with Xzum and ripped him limb from limb. |

Brewin suggested we start populating the teams link with stuff about our proposed teams... names, players, anthems, logos, etc., and I couldn't agree more! So get creative, and start writing. How to submit a storyAnyone who has been invited to participate in the league has been given "Author" privileges. Over to the right, beneath the "Logout" button, you should see a "Submit an Article" link. Clicking this will bring up a word processing editor right in the site. Your team name should go in the Title, with anything and everything else added in the content window beneath that. At the moment, you can link images from other sites, and I'll be looking into possibly having some sort of image upload feature to store them locally on BBQL. Finally, beneath the content area, you'll see a "Publishing" box. For "Section", choose "Teams", and for the "Category", "Inaugural Season" should automatically be chosen for you. Note that this is how you'll submit other content as well, such as News items for the front page (Mek, I think the Play Creator is front page news), or match reports once we get going. Submitted articles go into a queue, which I'll review and then publish to the site. This is to prevent anything inappropriate from showing up (the inevitable porn/pharmacy/penis-enlargement spammers that will eventually find the site). Once your Team info is published, it will automatically show up in the Teams link above. If you have any questions or problems, use the Open Discussion forum to address those. That way we can share knowledge across the entire group as we gear up for the opening season. |
